Back in 1995 Glenn was working as a software engineer at Microsoft, developing MS Word's UI, and Steve had been writing and selling medical database systems. We both quit our jobs to start FreeMail, Inc, and to develop FreeMail, the very first successful Internet document delivery service. FreeMail became known as Kinkonet™ , Kinko's Inc. world-wide document delivery system. In the year after it's release to the public, all Kinkonet™ literature stated that "Kinkonet™ is operating under a license from FreeMail, Inc."

Two years later, in 1997 we sold FreeMail, Inc. to WAM!NET, a partner with MCIWorldCom and Sony, and were given major management responsibility - we become the Directors of Internet Development at WAM!NET, and we were made responsible for creating 100% of WAM!NET's original Internet offerings. This involved management of 100's of developers programming in many languages who were located throughout the world at the various WAM!NET offices in Minneapolis, England, Texas, California, Detroit and Missoula.
