Executive Software first established a reputation for releasing bug-free, performance-enhancing system management tools in the middle eighties, through a wide range of online disk defragmentation and data caching software products designed for Digital Equipment Corporation’s (now Compaq) VMS systems. This tradition continues today, with Diskeeper 7.3 for OpenVMS fully supporting Compaq’s brand new OpenVMS 7.3 operating system.
Due to a decade of experience that established our name in the OpenVMS field, we formed a partnership with Microsoft during the early days of Windows NT development. We co-developed an advanced series of application program interface (API) “hooks” that allow 100 percent safe defragmentation of each Windows NT file system. This close relationship with Microsoft continues to this day. Executive Software supplied the know-how behind the manual defragmenter that is included in Windows 2000.
